THE AUGUST 26, 2008 REFERENDUM PALM AIRE RECREATION DISTRICT.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ALL RESIDENTS AND IN PARTICULAR TO ALL REGISTERED VOTERS IN PALM AIRE?

Steering Cttee Chair Joel Aronson, Attorney Ed Dion, and Council of Pres George Cuolahan made a short presentation to the Vizcaya community on Tue June 17 at 4:00 pm.

Thank you to the presenters for your excellent presentations. They were relaxed yet effective. The concise perspective given by Joel Aronson was extremely useful, since no one in the audience had attended the Recreation District presentation at the Skolnick Center last month. (It was clever of Joel to ask the question at the beginning, so that he knew where to start and assumed that most people didn't know anything).

Among the questions asked, the one which answer perhaps will need more precision is the one dealing with "eminent domain." (One resident asked what would happen if a developer buys the property and the District elects the condemnation by "eminent domain" and there's a jury trial to determine the value of the property).

There were 21 residents, including 7 Captains (out of 9), and 4 BoD members for a total of 25 unit-owners, (representing 1/4 of the Vizcaya population) most of them registered voters according to the hand-raised tally.
